Music Partnership North Newcastle (Newcastle Music Service) is part of the North East Music Hub. Our consortium model includes Local Authorities Darlington, Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, Northumberland, Sunderland, South Tyneside with North Tyneside acting as hub lead organisation.

Funded by the Department of Education and Arts Council England, MPN is committed to enriching the lives of all children and young people through engagement and participation in quality music activities; enabling progression to excellence through a variety of musical pathways.

Each hub is expected to deliver against three aims as set out in the national plan for music education (NPME), The power of music to change lives: a national plan for music education - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) published in 2022.

·       to support schools and other education settings to deliver high-quality music education  

·       to support young people to further develop their musical interests and talent, including into employment 

·       to support all children and young people to engage with a range of musical opportunities in and out of school 

Hub Lead Organisations will also be responsible for the five strategic functions outlined in the NPME: Partnerships, Schools, Progression and musical development, Inclusion and Sustainability. 

Music Partnership North Newcastle provides instrumental teaching and music support activities in Newcastle schools. Our expert teachers, musicians and performers work in every phase of education from early years to sixth form.

Through our work with numerous partners, local organisations and educational establishments, we use music to support and develop individuals to help them reach their full potential through various musical pathways.

We provide a quality range of musical activities and tuition to inspire children and young people from all backgrounds and circumstances.
